Eleanor Davies was a primary founder of the organization which formed in 1985 and was committed to serving in various roles for over 30 years, volunteering her gifts of time and compassion while journeying with Islanders with a palliative life limiting diagnosis. Eleanor was a retired nurse having received her education on PEI and was passionate about caring for Islanders throughout her career and in the many volunteer roles she held as a member of the communities she supported.

This scholarship reflects Hospice PEI’s dedication to supporting education and fostering future health care workers in the health care field whose goal is to pursue a career in health care. This award aims to provide financial support to a student who can demonstrate their pursuit of academic goals in the health care field and a commitment to actively serving their community through their volunteer activities.
