Hospice Services

Volunteer Support Services

Hospice PEI volunteers provide companionship and comfort to Islanders with a life-limiting or palliative diagnosis, while providing respite for their caregivers and loved ones. Our trained volunteers are carefully matched with care recipients and their families based on the care recipient’s and their families needs and our resources. Our volunteers are available for care recipients who are living at home, in long term care, in hospitals, or in palliative care settings. All Hospice PEI services are provided free of charge.

Examples of Volunteer Support Services include:

  • Listening and conversing
  • Reading
  • Comforting
  • Meditation
  • Walking
  • Providing respite care for caregivers
  • Music care
  • Therapeutic touch
  • Transportation to appointments

Anyone can request our Hospice Support Services. To make a request for Hospice PEI Volunteer Services, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator in your region. Click here to view our staff directory.
