A Story of Kindness

Today we got to meet an extraordinary woman. These opportunities of meeting people are one of the parts of our job that bring us great joy and remind us that the world we are surrounded by is full of giving, kind, and compassionate people, no matter what their circumstances are. This woman has given us permission to share this story.

Ann Matheson is a prolific crocheter. In fact, she has been producing lap blankets for our Hospice PEI clients for the past few months while she herself is on a personal journey of her own. We have been able to give the lap blankets to our Hospice PEI volunteers across the region who bring them on their visits to our clients they spend time with. The feedback has been wonderful. Everyone is so appreciative of the thought, beauty, and time that goes into each blanket. The colors are beautiful. Even the men love the neutral colors she uses and have commented on how much they appreciate that detail.

From all of us at Hospice PEI, thank you Ann for thinking of others and bringing smiles and warmth to many Islanders. We’re glad we brought a smile to your face today by stopping in to meet you. Blessings to you on your journey.
