Originally from Prince Edward Island, her professional career began in Toronto at Kodak Canada, in Sales and Marketing, managing the Education Market for the Office Imaging Division. During this time, with involvement in Street Level Canada, as Meet the Street Toronto Committee member and Chair, a passion began for advocacy and support for mental health, addiction and homelessness.
A diverse career pursued including Outreach Counsellor and Case Manager for Youth Haven Canada, Chief Operating Officer of a house for survivors of Human Trafficking, Community Development and Social Enterprise Management for a non profit as well as sitting on a variety of Municipal and Regional Committees and Boards including Opioid Advisory Committee, multiple Human Trafficking Committees, Municipal Youth Advisory Committee, Suicide Prevention and Awareness Committee, Church Boar s, Small Church Connection Canada Board, Youth Unlimited Board and various Municipal Homelessness Advisory Committees. In addition, she was one of the founding volunteers that started Hospice South Simcoe (now Matthew’s House Hospice) and served for 20 years as a volunteer offering grief support , individual and family care.
She deeply values mental health support and remains passionate about support for all Islanders as she coordinates the Community Education Program delivering Mental Health Education and presentations across all P.E.I
